3rd Hair🔑

P&R (Part 1)
In the previous hair 🗝, we tested for hair porosity and density. Based on our individual results, here are some features and product recommendations.

Low porosity hair;
It has tightly bound cuticle layer and overlapping scales that lay flat. it repels moisture and is hard to process since it resists any form of penetration of hair products.

Recommendations
*Use moderate heat with protein-free deep conditioning to open up the right cuticle
*Apply protein-free daily conditioners with honey or glycerine
*Also use moisturizers that are rich in Shea butter, jojoba oil, mineral oil and coconut oil
*Avoid liquid based products such as hair mills because they sit on your hair

Medium Porosity Hair
This type of hair requires least amount of maintenance because it has loose cuticles and layers that absorb adequate amount of moisture. They are easy to style, shiny and voluminous

Recommendations
*Deep conditioning with protein conditioner but proteins should not be included in daily products or regimen

High Porosity Hair
This can be hereditary or as a result of damage from chemical processing and environmental damage. Bathing or simple shampooing can cause the hair to easily break because of the high moisture it absorbs.

Recommendations
*Anti-humectants can help seal up the damaged cuticles and prevent them from absorbing excess moisture in the hair.
*Use leave-in conditioners, moisturizers and sealers.
*Hair butter can also be used to help fill the gaps and prevent the hair from loosing too much moisture.
*Egg washes are advisable but not too often.

Some words have been written in italics, their meaning is not too familiar. Part 2 of P&R will elaborate on them so stay tuned👁.
